WE CALL IT BOLTY. WE DECIDED TO GO WITH ELECTRIC VEHICLES, BOTH FOR THE REDUCED EMISSIONS AS WELL AS THE REDUCED OPERATING COST.
SO WE HAVE BOLTY IS BEING RENTED AVAILABLE TO RENT HOURLY.
SPARKY IS BEING RENTED WEEKLY.
SO THE THE BENEFITS OF THE CAR SHARE AS WE SEE IT, AFFORDABILITY IS THE BIG ONE.
THERE'S THE ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS OF REDUCED EMISSIONS DUE TO THE ELECTRIC VEHICLES RUNNING ON THE CLEAN, RENEWABLE HYDRO ELECTRICITY WE HAVE IN YELLOWKNIFE AS WELL AS THERE'S LESS MATERIALS AND ENERGY THAT GOES INTO MANUFACTURING THE CAR SHARE CAR AS OPPOSED TO IF EVERYBODY OWNED THEIR OWN CAR.
ANOTHER LOCAL BENEFIT IS THAT PURCHASING ELECTRICITY TO RUN YOUR CAR RATHER THAN OIL PUTS MONEY INTO THE LOCAL UTILITY RATHER THAN SENDING MONEY AWAY TO BIG OIL COMPANIES. ANOTHER BENEFIT TO THE CAR SHARE IS REDUCED NEED FOR PARKING DOWNTOWN AGAIN AS PEOPLE CHOOSE NOT TO OWN CARS.
SO IF ANYBODY HAD ANY DOUBTS ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT ELECTRIC VEHICLES WORK IN COLD WEATHER, THEY DO.

AND OUR FIRST FORAY IN THAT AREA IS ACTUALLY WE'RE WORKING ON A PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AVENS SENIOR CENTER TO HAVE A CAR SHARE CAR LOCATED ON THE SITE OF THE NEW SENIORS COMPLEX, WHICH WOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR THE SENIORS, BUT ALSO FOR MEMBERS WHO LIVED IN THAT AREA.
SO OUR LONG TERM VISION IS TO HAVE MORE VEHICLES IN MORE NEIGHBORHOODS THROUGHOUT YELLOWKNIFE SO THAT MORE OF THE RESIDENTS OF YELLOWKNIFE CAN ACCESS THE SERVICE IF THEY IF THEY WANT TO. SO ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE SEE THE CITY BEING ABLE TO ASSIST US IN THAT REGARD WITH IS TO HAVE PERHAPS EXPLORE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ON STREET PARKING WITH WITH CHARGING.
