AS YOU KNOW, WE FOLLOW THE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT AND TAXATION ACT, AS WELL AS OUR OWN POLICIES THAT ARE SET BY COUNCIL IN DEALING WITH TAX ARREARS, AND OUR OPTION IS THE AUCTIONING OF PROPERTIES THAT HAVE STANDING ARREARS. SO THIS MEANS THAT WHEN TAXES ARE TWO YEARS IN ARREARS, WE WILL ADVANCE TO AUCTIONING PROPERTIES TO SEEK TO RECOUP THE OUTSTANDING TAX REVENUES. AND OF COURSE, WE DO A LOT OF THINGS. BEFORE WE REACH THIS POINT, WE DO SEEK TO NOTIFY AND WORK OUT ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT OPTIONS WITH PROPERTY OWNERS. SO IN ORDER TO CORRECT THIS. COUNCIL APPROVAL IS REQUIRED THROUGH BYLAW IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR LAND ADMINISTRATION BYLAW. SO WE'RE TRYING TO CLEAN THIS UP BEFORE WE LOOK AT RENEWING THE LEASE. SO COUNCIL MAY REMEMBER WE STARTED THAT LAST YEAR, AND SO THE IDEA IS JUST THAT IT WOULD. INSTEAD OF HAVING IT SET AS THE SECOND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH, IT WOULD BE CALLED AS NEEDED. IT'S GREAT THAT MEETINGS CAN TAKE PLACE VIRTUALLY, BUT I THINK ONE OF THE DOWNSIDES IS THAT ABILITY FOR A LITTLE BIT MORE OF AN INFORMAL BACK AND FORTH. SO WE REALLY DO RECOMMEND THAT WE ALL ALTER THE FREQUENCY AND HAVE THEM AS NEEDED. AND IF ONCE WE'RE ABLE TO GET BACK IN PERSON, IF WE FIND THAT'S A FORUM THAT REALLY WORKS WELL, THEN MAYBE IT PICKS UP AGAIN.
